white spots on back of neck

My husband returned to Iraq with white spots on the back of his neck. When he first came home they weren't that noticeable but there seems to be more now. What could it be?

I would be very cautious. I am just another person with no medical training, but anything that comes up on the skin and seems to multiply should atleast be looked at by a medical professional. It could just be some type of an allergic reaction to an environmental contact, such as an unusual pollen that he encountered overseas. However, it could be something more serious, up to and including precancerous cells, related to overexposure to the sun.  But, please, I don't want to panic you, so don't see this response as some veiled attempt to tell you that your husband has skin cancer, don't even think those words. Just seek the opinion and diagnosis of a qualified doctor. IMPORTANT: do it now, without delay, because whatever it is, the best cures for anything usually come early on, and that applies to anything from dandruff to bad breath, okay?
By the way, whether your husband was in the military or in civilian service in Iraq, tell him I and my whole family said. "THANK YOU FOR SERVING AND GOD BLESS, WE LOVE BEING FREE!!!!!!!!"
