Mum needs help

Hi, I have a gorgeous 16 year old daughter who has recently diagnosed with Type1 diabetes.  She has just gone back to boarding school and is finding it hard to settle back in. BGL's have been in hypo then was adjusted now is higher - needless to say she is extremely upset and fustrated.  We have a really great family and friends network and she still wants to be at her amazing school.
Can anyone help with some ideas as to how I can settle her.  She worries that no one understands except her family.  We have a great support network at the school but she is feeling all alone (and I am beside myself having her away from my constant supervision!!)
From her point of view she is really hating her illness and I can really understand this as I hate it too and I am not the one with it!
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi! I'm a type 1 diabetic too! I was just recently diagnosed over the summer and I know how annoying blood sugars can be. I have been all over the place! constant lows to constant highs, some days I just wanna scream! My only advice is that she should talk to her doctor about it, that way they can change her insulin doses and single out any factors that might be causing her hypers and hypos.
I hope this helps!

Thanks cutieKJstar.  She is working on some changes, but as all 16 year olds the carbo loading worries her.  Her insulin has been slightly changed.  She has a new nurse/doctor as she is in another area so they are new and have different options to the home support professionals.  Hopefully time will help but I just want her to be as happy as she can (keeping in mind she now has a chronic illness!).  Thanks heaps for your advice - much appreciated.
