Don't know what this is

Hello,
Info & History

I am a male, mid 20's 5'8 weigh 140-150 pounds.
I have always been pretty athletic but do not have a great diet. A few years ago, maybe 2, I went to the doctor and was told I had sugar in my urine, after a blood test my blood sugar levels were normal.

Here is my question:
Once every few months I get moments of where I am tired, fidgety, anxious, frustrated and I do not feel good. Actually I had a moment just yesterday. I had breakfast around 10 a.m and also drank a lot of water and by 12:30 had these feelings. I then had a sucker because I maybe thought my sugar was low and after having the sucker (within minutes) I felt back to normal. Is this an indication of pre-diabetes or is this normal?

Sally is right go to the MD.  I would ask for a OGTT   Oral Glucose Test  While The OGTT will give a better response as to how you body handles carbohydrates and can find problems the A1c will mis.

The A1c is an average of your BG over 3 months.  like looking at an average of a cars speedomiter you cant tell if a person is speeding or not.

it is posable to have reactive hypoglycemia and still have a normal A1c  OGTT will pick that up.

Hello,

suggest you go to your dr and have a more thorough checkup.

The test to ask for is hba1c, not fasting blood sugar.  Hba1c is an average of your blood sugar over the past 3 months.

Would be good if you can start with small changes to make your diet better....  we can often get away with poor diet when we are young, but it will catch up later.... :)
