5 yr old symptoms

My daughter is 5 yrs old and is always thirsty.  She urinates at least once every two hours.  She wakes up in the middle of the night asking for water and saying she is thirsty.  She drinks like she is dehydrated.  She also gets up at night to go to the bathroom.  When I was pregnant with her I had gestational d. and at birth she was in the NICU for hypoglycemia.  She has a Dr. appt.  Aug.4th, but I am worried, should I take her in earlier or will it be safe to wait?  She is also always tired, and seems to get sick if she dosen't eat for a while.  She does have a few med. problems such as Neurofybromatosis and Craniosynastosis.  So she has been sick all her little life.  Her pediatrician moved away so I just found another doc. that don't know anything about what she has been through so this is a challenge.  Sorry for babbling just scared.  Thank you in advance for any of your help.

I would not wait to go to the genetic doctor. The type of dry that deals with diabetes is an endocrinologist.  They will be able to tell by both blood and urine tests.
