High Risk Pregnancy

I went for my 20 week sonogram, I am 24 yrs old a diabetic type 1 (juvenile), Anemic, and I have high blood pressure.  The doctor said that in the sonogram he is not able to see from the ribs down of my baby.  Right away he mentioned that something was wrong with the baby and as well with his/her spine.  My question is what to expect and as well the pros and cons.  Since he said nothing was wrong with the heart or head, I feel the baby is fine, but the doctor really worried me now.  I went for a 2nd consultation with another dr. and he told me that the position the baby is in, cant allow him to give an opinion since the baby's position doesn't allow him to see correctly.

Do not give up I have had diabetes since I was 9 and now I am 31 years old ...I had a healthy baby boy a year ago. So far so good....when he was born he did not have to go to the NICU  ....don't listen to all the negative comments people have to say. I know how it feels to want to have a child and people telling you that you might not be able to have a child or the baby will have many complications...what I did is I tried as hard as I could to keep my blood sugar controlled.  I am on a insulin pump and I think that helps a lot I also wore a sensor so I was able to adjust my insulin all the time. I did not eat high carb foods I went to 3 doctors 3 times a week my endo..my Gyno..and a high risk doctor which were all positive!! And most of all have faith and pray pray and pray....God has your back if you just think positive ..i am not saying its going to be easy but just try to eat right and keep your sugar contolled as best as you can.I hope this encourage you. I pray everything is ok with you and your baby...if you have any question I will be glad to answer the. Email anytime scorpio10248@ gmail.com...

Hi,

you are in a difficult situation.  How well controlled has your blood sugar been during your pregnancy?  What is your latest A1C?

Many women with diabetes do have healthy babies.  However, if your blood sugars are not well cotnrolled then there could  be problems.

Please get another opinion.  If the Dr. can't see the baby properly then really they can't know if there is or isn't a problem, or make any sound recommendations.
