Your first question was obviously posted here as you suspect diabetes may be the cause. I suggest you get a blood glucose test or A1C from your doctor to see if that is the case. As for what are the causes of depression there are multiple causes for depression including situations in life and chemical inbalance. What is important is not the cause, but that if you suffer from Depression you get an assessment and seek treatment which is also varied but most likely includes some form of medication and therapy. Just to tie it together, people with diabetes often also suffer from depression. The best antidote if that is the case is to get diagnosed and learn how to manage the diabetes which will control blood sugars and help you feel in control.

What was your fasting glucose result? Under 100 is normal, 100-125 is pre-diabetes and over 126 is diabetes. But the standard for diagnosis of diabetes is now the A1C not a fasting as it gives an average of blood sugars for a period of a couple months which is a lot more useful than just one single fasting which can vary.

It's not likely to be the meds, but you should ask your doctor about your symptoms. When you say you "got tested 2 weeks ago and everything looks fine" what test did you get? What were the results? Lots of doctors are not knowledgeable about diabetes and pre-diabetes. The test you should have is called an A1C and the results are: below 5.7-normal, 5.7-6.4-pre-diabetes and over 6.5-diabetes.
