Could a day have made the difference?

I wrote in yesterday about my great Pyrenees, she had a mammory tumor removed, It was cancerous but it hadnt spred.  This was 15 days ago, she then got symptoms of food poisoning, they lasted for 2 days, and I took her in yesterday morning, she was practically comatose at this point, they said she had pancreatitus, and wanted to keep her, I recieved a call 9 hours later that she had passed away....Her pancreaus was enlarged and her liver was being effected, but the reason for her comatose state was she was also hypoglycemic...I am in such peril wondering if I had just gotten her to the vet the day before she may have been strong enough to beat this thing....I need to know if time would have made the difference between her life and death?

I'm so sorry to hear this and hate to see you blaming yourself.  Pancreatitis can come on suddenly and can be very hard and complex to treat.  My daughter has a little dog with a chronic condition and has been under a Vet's care 3 times now to get treated and it was very expensive.  She survives on ID food alone.  Years ago, I had a young Sheltie that died of pancreatitis.  He was absolutely fine when I left for work in the morning and doubled up and very ill by the time I got home.  I rushed him to my Vet and we tried to treat him for 2 days. I finally made the sad decision to put him to sleep.  So, I've crossed the same bridge you find yourself at today.  I really doubt, with the other issues going on, that the outcome would have been different.  You tried your best and you have to remember that.
hugs to you
