When you changed foods, did you do it gradually and what food ate you feeding?
Backing to a school would be a concern.
You can pick up syringes at the pet store or pharmacy.
Rectal temps are usually easy to take, assuming the dog co-operates. They have rectal thermometers, either the regular ones, which I use, or digital. I just put some Vasaline on the end and insert it in the rectum, not too far up. You can do this with the dog standing or lying down. A dog's normal temp is around 102. Unless they ate overheated, a temp of 103 or above usually indicates something is going on.

thank you so much. yes she is up to date on shots. our back yard backs up to a school so we never know if anything is thrown over into the yard. she has been like this since last night and just keeps walking by her water bowl and wont even play with my other dog like she always does. i have never done a rectal temp on a dog. she does get the same food all the time but a few days ago she ate a new brand for 2 days. raised rottweilers while i was growing up but have never had to force fluids into a dog. again thank you so much. i will be calling the vet in morning if nothing changes

She can go for a while without eating but still needs fluids in her. You can give her water, Pedialyte, low sodium chicken broth.
If she is still like this tomorrow, best to get her Vet checked.
