my dog had an enema done and now has blood in stool is this normal?

Our doggie Yemy was spayed on Monday. Today the doctor said she was constipated and perfomed an enema. She is now pooping but has blood in her stool. Is this normal. We are freaking out!

Alright, well you are on the right track, and if she gets any worse, please take her to an emergency vet. - Blu  PS: 'too descriptive' is not in my vocabulary. :-)

Yes, her stool was very liquid with lots of blood. She was crying too as she tried to go. This morning at 6AM her stool was a little firmer with some blood. Her butt though looked liked if she were on her period, all bloody. Sorry for being so descriptive but that is her condition.

Unfortunately, the vet was closed. I've called the Vet again this morning to get an appointment. I'm waiting to  hear  from the doctor. I've sent them pictures. I'm really concerned!

Thank You.

A canine enema is using a long flexible rubber tube inserted into the anus, and a fairly large amount of KY jelly forced in.  If you are seeing solid stools that are just a bit red, it's probably from the tube they used.  If you are seeing stools that are more liquid, with more blood, that is something to be more concerned about.  Please see your vet, better safe than sorry.
