Good Dog

Is your dog well trained & well behaved?
How did you accomplish it ?
I must be one of the luckiest persons to ever have a Dog. I'm not sure exactly how she's so good, but she is an angel. Quiet, never barks, unless it's some rare occurance. That, I do know, came from listening to Dog Whisper show. I've posted this before, but I'm just so proud of my dog. Ever since we got her,I had everyone on the ranch, inc my husband treat her like a baby & we are the pack leaders.
She never chases the workers trucks out the gate. She only needed to be taught 3 times.
She always stays outside. Doesn't paw at the glass or whine.
Up in the new house there are no devide ing  walls. It's my art studio. The only seperation is an insect curtain. I put her food & bed on other side of drapes. Even when they are pulled back, she doesn't cross the line where they had been. I don't even remember teaching her that. I think she's just smart. I pet & groom her at least one hour per day. When she's awake I tell her I love her all day.   What is your dog like?   Pamela

Doggie instinct!
Use the Neem oil sparingly. Rub a small amt between your hands. Then rub into just top ridge of back. After about the 3rd treatment no fleas.
Make shampoo too. I buy it pure on line. No greasy mess!

Never heard of NEEM oil.  Isn't that an oily mess left on the dog though?

Oh, they know when something is up.  It varied how many dogs I had here years ago, usually 4-6. I would have "bath and grooming" day.  Never said a word, just started getting stuff ready, etc.  I would go into the den, where all the dogs were usually playing or sleeping and not a dog to be seen.  Lol!!
Guess they wanted to play Hide and Seek or Hide and maybe she'll forget it?

I'm smitten by smart dogs. So gets back in her own bed. What a darling.
I've been rubbing Prin Sofielia down on her back ridge & other areas she can't reach with organic NEEM oil from India. I get that cup hot water & her comb ready for tic control. I hide the stuff, but there must be something in my voice or mannerism, when I first call her, she comes, takes one look at me & goes sits in the side yard. She has a place she sits, if her feelings are hurt or she doesn't want to do something.
I go in, get her treat, now, I know she knows, if she comes for treat ect. But she minds well, & comes for treat & participantes in tic control.
The NEEM is working. Tics that get on her,are not burrowing into her.

Oh boy, I have had too many dogs and all different!  My one Sheltie, that I competed in obedience with was very well trained.  Turn on the law mower and she went nuts!!
Was down to no dogs after we lost our Grey and I was kind of relishing the peace and quiet and no responsibilities in retirement - for about 3 months.  Well, wanted to check out our new Shelter and, long story, a little Chi mix caught my eye.  She just looked alert and smart.  Went back the next day to take her out to play with her and she was retrieving toys.  I was Not going to get a dog.  After she was spay, went and got her and brought her home.  She was probably 4 months old.
Due to family circumstances and my health issues, her training has been pretty restricted to our home and property.  She learned tricks in a matter of minutes.  First dog I have ever had that learned a recall without using a leash once!

Now, I have and have not let dogs sleep on our bed over the years.  She has a bed in our room. She would try to get in bed and I would put her back.  I would wake up in the night and realize she was in bed so I just let her be. When I got up in the morning, she would be in her own bed. Hmmmmm...
I think what she is doing is waiting until she knows I am asleep and gets in bed.  My husband gets up early and she then gets back in her own bed before I get up!!  Yep, smart little thing.  Lol

LOL!  That's the way our Greyhound was or would hope friend or foe would come take him for a walk.
Ok, some are more watch dogs but I used to tell people if they wanted a watch dog, get a Chihuahua.  :-)

Mine is your typical big, old, lazy, lunkhead dog. :-)  He would show thieves where all our expensive items are kept, just hoping for a pat on the head. :-)
