Sense of smell weird

Tags: smell disorder
Hello, I have been having this weird smell disorder for a while now. Its like smells come and go. Like if someone was to set a pie next to me i could obviously smell the pie right away but after like 5 min or so i could not smell the pie at all. I can recognize strong smells when i walk into a room...but after awhile they all disappear..and i can't smell anything...i fear i may be giving off an odor that may be neutralizing all the other odors..or smells in the room...i have been to a gastro doctor and she gave me a simple breath test..that came back normal..and she told me to go see a psychologist cause i was imagining the smell..i also went to se an ent doc, and she told me to go get a head ct..i never followed through with that..but maybe i should..am i crazy?...i did do a test where i put on a face mask and waited for like 5 min..took it off..i could smell my friends cooking..but after leaving the mask off for another five or 10 min i couldn't smell her cooking anymore..very frustrating..i fell like i may have one of those disorders that affects 1 in every 5 million people. I hope not...any response is much appreciated thanks!

I quit smoking  about 3 months ago, but even before that i got to where people smoking, car exhaust, and even the smell from dishwashing liquid would make me cough and even gag. I cant stand the smell of food cooking any more, and frying foods make my face feel greasy. i am constantly blowing my nose because smells make it run, and my nose feels cold inside. Whats going on/

I feel the same way sometime.  Like my nose isn't working. I have recently given up eating wheat(which I think I might be allergic to) and for the first time I was driving along with my windows down and I could smell sage and other flowering plants.  This never happens to me, friends say "ooooh smell that jasmine or orange blossoms in the air", I can never smell it unless I put my face in it.
