Lupron depot or Lo loestrin Fe?

I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis and I want kids, just not right now. I'm hoping in the next year to start trying and the doctor is hopeful but I still worry about preserving my fertility. I am currently on lo loestrin fe continuously but the pills make me nauseous. My doctor wants me to start the Lupron Depot shot. Will this help preserve fertility better than the BCP?

I also had Lupron for endo and it was the worse experience EVER! First of all you really should research Lupron prior to making a decision as it has tons of very serious side effects that are not only short term but can also be life long. I felt horrible while on the medication. It does out you into a menopausal state. I had mood swings so bad I couldn't even stand myself. I had horrible leg pains. Lupron can actually cause bone problems and can cause you to become shorter so calcium supplements should be taken. I have been diagnosed with a few life long issues from the use of this drug. I encourage you do not make this decision lightly. Also I'd like to add that the Lupron nightmare I went through for months and months actually did nothing to slow down the progression of my endo.

No medication can help preserve fertility.

With Endometriosis, you will either be infertile or not and you will know until it comes to the time that you want to conceive. There are many women including myself that have conceived. I had stage IV. However there some women with stage I and can't, there is no way to know until you try.

If that pill is not working for you try another one. Right now I am on Marvelon its a low dose BCP that I take every day and have since my first surgery in 2007. I have come off to take Lupron 3 times and Visanne once. To be honest if you can find a BCP to help stop your periods I would go that route because you are in world full of trouble with symptoms from Lupron that you regret taking it and some people have had permanent side effects . Not trying to scare you but trying to let you know you need to educate yourself on these meds esp Lupron. Lupron will put you into menopause and an example of how that felt I can tell you.

I felt depressed, with Hot flashes, joint and muscle pain, nausea, and insomnia. I am all over social media sites and I can tell you that after advocating for this disease I have talked to only 2 ppl that have benefited from Lupron. Medication works differently for everyone and the only way to know is trial and error.

So you know nothing stops Endometriosis from growing you need to make sure the Endo is excised out by an Endo specialist leaving nothing behind as that is key to have limited pain afterwards. Laser will not get to the root of the disease/lesions and because of that lesions continue to spread because each lesion has estrogen in it and it takes estrogen to feed it.

I hope you find the right medication to help you as that is very important. I got lucky and the BCP Marvelon has worked wonders for me none of those other drugs have.
