can smoking marijuana cause seizures?

I was wondering, the other night about a week and a half ago, I was smoking weed and it was a sunday. I have been smoking weed for awhile now I have not responded weird to it at all. so the next day i was in the bathroom and i had just got done washing and drying my hands. After that i fell to the floor and began going into a seizure. I was wondering if me smoking weed was the reason for me going into the seizure. I am somewhat concern that this is the reason that it happened but i would like someone to explain this further to me

I have been epileptic since I was 13 now I'm 32 and when I was in my 20's I had smoked pot a few times with no problem then there was one time I smoke (and my last) had an aura and went into a convulsion ended up in the hospital and lost my license for 6 months. The doctors couldn't take a chance if I had one driving so 6 months of no car. After that I never touched it again.

I would consider myself an  mj smoker......the first time i had a seizure was after I smoked with some buddies in college and went back to my apartment and siezed up in front of my roomate...the second time was maybe a year later smoking trash weed while driving home from college...of course like many of you stated on hear I went to the neurologist did the test nothing came of it..After that i quit for a year or two then convinced myself it was because I was smoking bad weed. not the case..At this point i would say i've had about 5 or 6 siezures none without the presence of mj...Sadly my last one was by myself this passed thursday..My tongue hurts as i am typing this now,its obvious the mj is causing it.  The worst part is i'll get the auras and 95% of the time it will go away and I won't get a seizure...to put it in perspective i've probably smoke mj 4,675 times and its yielded maybe 6 seizures.  As much as i championed for mj,i must say I can't live with those odds anymore...Seizures are scary, especially when your by yourself.  Waking up and trying to piece your life together for the next 20 minutes is just too scary.

i am doin my bachelors in medicine and surgery, i recently got an acute alchohol poisoning on halloween n then smoked mj couple of days later, hv been sleep deprived due to exams as well. So i got a mild seizure recently, but it was when something made me really angry, so i guess the high adrenalin levels combined with alchohol poisoning and thc, lead to the expression of the imbalance in the effected part of the brain probably due to alchohol poisoning, but this is a special case, Usually smoking HASHISH or the paste like oily form of marijuana instead of the grass like weed is better as it contains less THC. Alchohol disrupts brain signals even more..

hey, the exact same thing happened to me last night (sunday) strange haha. I also smoke it fairly often, I had just had a joint, felt a little light headed when I stood up, everything went black then my legs started going and next thing I was on the floor fitting. This has never happened before and I've smoked weed before. Anyone know if this is serious?

You're way to "pro" mj.  This blog is trying to provide info by folks who apparently have suffered seizures after smoking pot.  Even a pothead like you should understand that different people have different reactions when smoking dope. Your info would be much more beneficial on a legalize mj site since that's the way so many states are headed.  Aside from the politics, marijuana is 600 times stronger than it was in the 60's.  It's a drug....Dude.
