Abnormally High EBV levels

Two weeks ago I was tested for several things due to the following symptoms: fatigue and generalized lymphadenopathy that is painful and lasting for 7 weeks (at this point). The only thing I tested positive for was EBV. However, my levels were extremely high.
EBV early antigen IGG: 124 (positive is greater than 10.9)
EBV AB VCA IGG: >600 (pos is greater than 21.9)
EBV Nuclear antigen AB IGG: >600 (pos is greater than 21.9)

Basically, I have had a reactivation of this virus.
I am extremely scared and concerned because I've read that a compromised immune system causes a reactivation of EBV. In late April, I had an oral sexual encounter with a male of unknown status and I have been very anxious about HIV due to these persistent symptoms. It has been 20.5 weeks since the exposure and I have tested up to 18 weeks with 3rd generation antibody test which was negative and an oral swab Oraquick test yesterday which was negative, too. My question is what else can cause such high levels of reactivation and have any of you had EBV and had lymph nodes swell all over and be tender for so long? Any help would be appreciated.

my doctor says  The CBC results are inaccurate because the report says there was clumping of the platelets. The second draw of blood with vortexing also resulted in clumping. The platelet count came out to be 99000. the lab has again drawn blood in sodium citrate tube and heparin tube. I will get yhe report tomorrow.  But in the meanwhile I have undrstood that clumping with EDTA anti coagulant happens due to antibodies reaction present in the blood. So all in all there is some viral infection is present. Anyhow will post my CBC tomorrow.  Any comments?

Hi ,

Is there a reason you are posting in the EBV forum?
Have you tested for EBV before?

Your CD4 count is quite strong,  did you also test for CD8?
Do you know CD4:CD8 ratio?

What about your complete blood counts, do you have the results? Please let me know . I can check if there are any clues there.

Thanks mkh9

I understand all the tests I have done are very sensitive. But still the symptoms seems to be never ending. I have researched all the forums on hiv and all the websites on pityrosporum folliculitis.

I have been visiting dermatologists. One derm in his diagnosis wrote as AIDS. I have stated this in my earlier post. Another derm was foolish enogh to prescribe me moisturizing lotion stating that my skin is dry. Yet another derm prescribed me tecrolimus (immune suppresent) thinking that it is eczema.

I am doing my best to treat yeast infection and there is lot of improvement. But I want to know the cause of so many symptoms. If it is HIV I should know and get proper treatment in time. Or else can it be due to some other virus like EBV, HCV, HHV6/7
