Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Fatigue persisting for 8 months - Not sure about EBV

In June-July 2016 I went on a month trip backpacking through Europe. I didn't sleep much and drank a lot. When I came back I started a new, less stressful job. I felt like it was taking a long time to get over my jet lag. I was exhausted for a week or two and it never really got much better. I have felt tired, regardless of how much sleep I get since then. In December 2016 I went to an internal medicine doctor to have some blood tests done to figure out what was wrong. They came back positive for Cytomegalovirus (results attached - IgG level at 5.5). The doctor told me there wasn't much I could do and to check back with him in a month. I'm not sure if he tested for EBV or not

Since then I have done the following

Drastically reduced alcohol consumption to an occasional glass of wine
Bought a juicer and began drinking fresh green juice every morning
Started taking Fish Oil supplements
Started taking Echinacea supplements
Started taking Acidophilus supplements
Started taking Green Tea supplements and drinking Green Tea instead of coffee
Started taking Astragalus Root Liquid Extract
Began using a humidifier every night
Started regularly taking allergy medication
Stopped lifting weights

I did these things based on the advice of these websites
http://www.livestrong.com/article/350622-dietary-supplements-for-mononucleosis/

About two months later I am still not feeling any better at all. I got another blood test for CMV IGG antibodies and it came back positive at 2.9. I read that the higher the number the higher the viral load here but I am not feeling any better with a lower number

I have read that Valcyte (Valganiclovir) may help but it seems to be primarily for patients with an otherwise compromised immune system, which I don't believe I have. I tested negative for HIV so I don't know if a doctor will prescribe it.

It's been 8 months and i'm really sick of this. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do?

Thanks in advance

Why did the doctor check for cytomegalovirus? I thought it was very common human virus and almost everyone gets it at some point in life
