Had Mono diagnosed over 20 years ago. One of the teenagers at the group home I was working in did have it; so apparently i caught it from her. Took the doctor months' to figure out what was wrong with me. Severe fatigue to say the least, coughing up brown stuff...a P.A. thought let's check for Mono and then it was discovered. Since then, the Epstein-Barr virus showed its ugly head. I always feel a bit fatigured, some days better than others. The blood tests still indicated a positive on the exposure with numbers I do not understand, but was told not to worry about the numbers. So I have had previous flu shots, always came down with something or other afterwards. This year I am concerned because I guess I didn't have them check the Epstein-Barr virus for many years. Shall I still get a flu shot ... I am 66 years old now. Last year I was back at the doctors a few times after the flu shot in January.
