I was diagnosed with Mono in late August 2010. I was feeling better, but on June 15th I awoke with many of the same symptoms as mono (fatigue, low grade fever, etc.) and joint pain. A week later I developed a red, sunburned looking rash on my right hand and forearm.
My Rheumatologist tested for EBV and Parvo, here are the results:
EBV Ab VCA, IgM 1.0
EBV Ab VCA, IgG 1.3 AI (High) Ref, Range > 1.0
EBV Nuclear Antigen Ab, IgG >8.0 AI (high) Ref. Range >1.0
Parvovirus B19, Human
Parvovirus B19, IgG 4.2 (High) Ref Range 0.0-0.8
Parvovirus B19, IgM 0.1 (Normal) Ref. Rand 0.0-0.8
Could this be reactivated mono or does it look like parvo? I thought IgG usually indicates past infection where IgM would indicate acute infection. Can you be infected with parvo and have low IgM immunoglobulins?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
