I can relate. My EBV tested at 560, but I also have HHV-6, which can cause diarrhea, etc. I'm looking at Valtex, but the downside is that it only appears to work while you are on it. Cymbalta only masked my symptoms, so I'd steer clear of that. If you haven't done so, start slowing changing your diet and lifestyle. I am first going the "support my immune system and overall health" route rather than the Valtrex. But, that may change.
Also, these viruses are so common, you may have had it much longer than you think. From what I have read and been told, it can be dormant and then be triggered when other issues are going on.
Oh, I recommend a Functional medicine clinic.
did you actually see the cbc to see if anything was slightly out of range like the mchc or any of the white cells low or high ?it depends on how many months youare away from your initial infection as to how far off they are.you may want to ask for a copy so you can look it over andask your dr questions.also a cmp would show some markers like if glucose spiked or iron is off vitamin d deficient or b12.just some of the things to look for .sometimes certain things wont be mentioned if they arent that far out of range but you may want to know so you can moniter the care you recieve.
have you checked for infection in the stomach or fungal infection possible inflammation in the blood.if you are having stomach issues you may want to ask about malabsorption could be a cause for fatigue.stress can also cause stomach issues but you know yourself better than anyone else.did you test for cmv it is as common as ebv.and together they might take a little more time for the body to control if they came together.i hope your issues resolve or you can find an answer.be well.
so did you get diagnosed with acute EBV mono ? This would mean a positive blood test result for EBV igM antibodies (igM antibodies indicate a current infection).
If you were negative for igM but positive for iGg, it just means you have had contracted EBV at some point in the past. This isnt very useful, as most people (said to be 95% by age 30) have contracted EBV at some stage in their lives.
When I got mono , i had igM antibody but no igG antibody, this showed I had a new , acute infection of EBV mono.
If you have igM, this would mean you have got mono, this could explain some of your symptoms, like the fatigue, brain fog, vision, etc.
Everything came back normal on cbc...doctors dk what's wrong but I know something is up
Sounds strange..what about your complete blood count , have you had this done ? There may be some markers here that indicate whats going on.
(Eg lymphocytes, neutrophiles, vitamin levels, iron, thyroid etc)
Let me know .
I have red irritated eyes...stomach problems like super gassy sometimes...vision problems and light sensitivity...when I work out I get fatigued super easy...i have tested all stds out to 7 months and nothing except high EBV tests...neck stiffness I can crack it all the time...also my memory and head is off
Johnny, what kind of symptoms have you been having in addition to the fatigue?
