Dont understand whats going on, erection problems.

Hi

Ive been with my partner 2 years now, and for maybee the last 5 or 6 months ive had erection problems, im 38 and in pretty good health.

For the first year or so we were constantly all over each other, and i was always ready to go...she needs a lot of foreplay so often i have to be hard without really being touched much at all but it was never an issue....visual stimuli and noises she made were enough to get me going.

About 6 months ago tho, i lost my erection just before sex, she was fine about it- but obviously it worried me.

I went to the docs, who prescribed cialis... it does seem to work most of the time, but not all the time.

If i watch porn (i dont do this often) i will quite often get an erection, and if i havent been taking any ED drugs i still get morning erections about half the time... yet when it comes to having sex with my partner i now need cialis to have any hope of being hard at all...and this is driving me insane.

Anyway question is, does this sound like ED?.

And...does anyone have experience with levitra?. I have read its shorter lasting but more potent than cialis.

Thanks.

If you are able to have morning erections and get erect while watching porn, this may be purely psychological. Try to relax (easier said than done, I know) and things will improve. Anxiety and sex don't go well together. When you get anxious, stress hormones constrict peripheral circulation and inhibit erections: it's the infamous 'fight or flight response'. Depression and mood disorders can also have drastic effects. There are effective solutions available, though.

I'm 33 y.o., I have a similar problem (coital anxiety) and I've been taking Cialis for over a year. It's very effective but it's not an anxiety drug and it doesn't improve libido. Vigamed (oral phentolamine), a new ED drug, is different: it blocks alpha receptors in the penis and inhibits the negative effects of stress hormones. Vigamed is not available in the US but you can order it online: vasomaxclinic.com I also take SEREDYN to control my anxiety and sometimes STABLON when I'm feeling depressed. It's a lot of stuff but it works.

You said your doctor prescribed Cialis. All three PDE-5 inhibitors (Viagra, Cialis, Levitra) are very effective but everyone is different and reactions vary greatly. I suggest you try all three and see which one works best for you. You should always consult your doctor first, though. Have you seen a urologist already? Did you do any tests to determine if there's some underlying organic cause that you're not aware of? Maybe you should seek a second opinion. Good luck!
