You must remember that BIG corporations are here to make profit. They dont really care what you eat.High carbs cause DIABETES remember..I am a R.D. by the way.So I did go to school to learn all of this along with personal experience.
I have lost 120lbs on ATKINS like 5 years ago.My cholesterol went down and my body fat is 20%.I know many people that are healthy while doing Atkins.Read the book before you comment. It is not all about bacon, and fat....People on atkins eat more veggies than the average american...according to Harvard studies.

Hey! I am at a weight of 125 punds. Now maybe that doesn't seem like much but to me it really is. I can't stand the way I look. I have lovehandles, fat stomach and thighs. I have been working out for a while and can't see any results. Please I am desperate. I am trying to loose weight by august 20th. I am going on a trip with my friends and would really like to look good in a bikini.
Any advice?

o yeah...and eat 6 small meals a day. Never get full but never get hungry. BEST way to eat.
LOW CARB DIETS ARE BAD. Ex: what would happen if someone stayed on the akins diet for 3 years? well...if there not dead, there body would supplement fats and proteins for its energy and you would start to look frail and white and give off a certain stench. eat 60% carbs 20% protein 10% fat. Do lots of cardio, and lower the amount of calories you eat by 500 once or twice within the 6 week period.
I know that initailly your first week or so you will drop the most weight(probably most likely water weight) It will taper off, and as you said the body does change alot daily. Sometimes more water, sometimes less, fat moves around also. I would suggest STOP looking at the scale and judge by your clothing. If you are lifting weight you will obviously replace fat with muscle. It sounds like you are doing well. Keep on working out and following your diet and you will do fine. I am glad to hear that all is well with the cholesterol and such. That REALLY is more important than how you look physically. I am the same way, still about 35-40 lbs overweight but all is very good on the inside. I would rather have it this way than the other way. Wouldn't you? I think it is because I have always eaten healthy and loved to exercise. Just wasn't doing enough (I suppose) to drop the weight. Once I hit 35 it sure got alot tougher. Best of Luck.
