Adverse Reactions

About 2 months ago I was prescribed Restasis Eye drops and after being on the dug for about 2-3 weeks I noticed that my mouth got extremely dry.  So I looked up all the side effects and none included dry mouth.  so I called the Dr. that prescribed it to me and I was told that 1% of patients get this dry mouth and I was told to discontinue use of the drug and come see the Dr in 1 month.  It's been a month and I went to the Dr but the symptoms has gotten worse instead of better.  I'm afraid to take something else to try and rectify the problem, I am also afraid the problem is worsening and my kidney are now part of the adverse side effect as well.  What should I do?  My eyes are also worse and now the Dr wants to send me to a specialist.  Do I just wait and see what will happen next?

Thanks for your advise.  I did go back to my medical doctor and due to the fact that I had previously had my medical checkup and blood work done, everything was normal.  But she did more test to assure that the dry mouth and the dry eye was not a symptom connected and after getting the results she assured me that this is not so in my case.  But the difference in my test from 3 months ago (my checkup) till now is that my glucose level is accelerated, which is very abnormal, seeing that I didn't have pre symptoms prior to me going back after this adverse effect.

You need to see a medical doctor.  Dry mouth can be part of a syndrome with dry eyes.
