BURNING EYES

I have burning eyes. Feels like it is behind the eyes. Can dry eyes make you burn behind the eye too. I went to an opthmologist and he gave me drops for dry eyes but never dilated my eyes. He did look in them without dilating them, can you see the optic nerve if not dilated?

Please help me.

ON swelling doesn't cause eye to burn.   The naked eye is not much help for most of the eye exam the structures are just too small

So if I had optic nerve swelling, he would have seen it by just looking into my naked eye. What is the ON?  Why do they dilate them?

I thank you for your quick response. Bless you

Yes you can see the ON without dilation. Likely you went in for a "medical" exam rather than a "complete eye exam" that includes dilation/refraction.
