Black/blind spots in peripheral following vitrectomy

I had a vitrectomy last Wednesday and since then have noticed two large black circles and another shape in my left peripheral. They are obscuring maybe 20% of my field of view at 9 o clock to 12 o clock.

My surgeon had to laser my upper retina due to a tear, but this is nowhere near where these black spots are.

Could this be something else besides a scotoma? They don't move and are definitely to do with the retina. Possible blood staining on the retina? Retinal inflammation? I'm terrified I have permanently lost my far left peripheral forever for seemingly no reason beyond a simple vitrectomy with a surgeon who has never had a patient with a scotoma before.

Especially if they move you might want to ask the surgeon if air or gas or oil was injected into the eye. I would first start there.

Hi. Thanks for the response. They don't move and an air bubble was injected. I can see the air bubble still a near week later, it's about 10% of the size and is sinking. As I say these static black patches are not moving and are distinct from the bubble which is now low down in my vision.
I'm sorry but the type of surgery you have had is so unique and individual that I can't tell you what the problem is. I think it important you call your surgeon's office and report your findings.  Remember that the blurred area from an air bubble is projected 180 degree opposite from where the air, gas or oil is.
