FLOATER-PVD INFORMATION: EXTREMELY IMPORTANT

Over the years that I've been an "expert" on the American Academy of Ophthalmology Eye Forums there are many many questions about floaters and posterior vitreous detachments. About treatment, risks, etc. PLEASE GO TO DR. HAGAN'S BLOG FOR TWO VERY IMPORTANT ARTICLES FROM THE JULY 2011 AMERICAN JOURNAL OF OPHTHALMOLOGY ABOUT FLOATERS AND FLOATER RESEARCH.

John C. Hagan III MD, FACS, FAAO  (PVD both eyes and Weiss Ring RE, lattice both eyes)

I'm sure that the most frustrating types of vision problems, for both eye doctors and patients, are vitreous opacities. The doctor, in evaluating, cannot measure the effect on the patient, and thus, rarely understands it. Amorphous and so highly variable, the experience is subjective, unique to the individual...truly in the eye of the beholder.
This study comes as no surprise to those who live with the constant, unending annoyance.
