Floaters.Good or Bad

I have been having floaters for about 2 1/2 months. They are on and off. I see them the most in the morning, outside, looking at a computer screen, even in the store shopping. I saw an eye doctor and my vision was good. He did the Opti Test were he can look directly into my eyes with a camera. He saw a few floaters, but said that there was no eye damage.

How long do these things stay around? They become very annoying. I sometimes get mild headaches and nauseated.
Will floaters lead to something bad or it is just something that you deal with and they are harmless.

I've had floaters in my eyes for about 7 years now.  I also asked the eye doctor and they said it's just age.  I notice them more when I'm tired and sometimes in bright sun.  I guess for the most part I just got used to them.  I have never gotten headaches from them as far as I can tell.
