Floaters are very common and usually benign. They are usually gray or shadowed dots or lines. Bright lights are usually not floaters. At your age in a healthy individual, they are most likely an ocular migraine. You have already done the right thing and had an eye exam. I had episodes of bright lights in my peripheral vision which I called "comets" which were bright balls of lights streaking down with curved tails. I blamed this on a medicine I was taking but I don't think it was because I have taken the same thing many times since and have never had them recur. I questioned my colleages about these and no one could give me an answer. They slowly disappeared over several months and I have never had them again. We don't have answers for everything. Watch your vision and if anything changes, get back to your ophthalmologist.
hi there I have floaters, I was quite in a panic when I first noticed them, had eyes tested etc. found no eye disease at all, I was told it was eye jelly in my eyes and that the floaters were there for good, I notice it more looking at a white wall or looking out to the water, its a little strange but its not dangerous so I am happy with that, I wear dark glasses when I am out, i will learn to live with it. No you are not overreacting, I was the same, I felt I need to be reassurred all the time, now I have occular migraines, any thing with the eyes I panic, my eyes are dry. Hope it all works out for you and you are little more less worried. from prudent
