Recovery after Commotio Retinae

My 14yr old daughter suffered vitreous hemorrage and commotio retinae after being hit with soccer ball during competitive play.  ITs been 14 days and we are being told that the gray/white/black spot that she has in lower quadrant of right eye will probably be permanent as the bruising involves the pigment layer.  She is being told that resuming her sport activites (with eye protection) is ok as it will not impact/impede any further improvement in eye sight as the results of OCT testing shows no further fluid on eye and there are no know treatments available. Has anyone heard otherwise?  Is there anything else that can be done? Thanks in advance.
