Concerned about my eye

Hello,
Today I noticed that my right eye was itching quite a bit. When I came in from work today I rubbed them a bit and flushed them with water to try to aliviate the itching.  It was a bit unbarable, and I found myself rubbing a bit more and then, hoping to calm my eyes I put a few drops of Visine. Well, I went about my business and realized that my right eye had developed what apperd to be a "bubble" that was making it difficult to shut my eye. I FREAKED OUT. I was going to go into the ER to have it checked out but decided after reserching online that perhaps I should give my eye some time to calm down and let the swelling go down. Earlier my right eye not only had a "bubble", but it was blood shot. It has been about 6 hours since this occured and since I have NOT touched, scratched, or aggrivated my right eye at all since I fear I have done something to it. My brother said I may have pink eye, but it is not crusty or as red anymore. So my question would be, should I go have this checked out in the morning or will time make this go away. I am not having any sight troubles, the itchyness has stopped and the redness is going away. No longer blood shot. More like a light pink. Also, the "bubble" is going down quite a bit & I can close my eye much easier now. Could this be just van allergy thing? Please advise me on what would be the best course of action. Thank you.

You need to see an ophthalmologist to be sure but what you describe is often "chemosis" which is an allergic reaction on the outer layer of the eye. It's like hives and occurs a lot this time of year due to either allergies like hayfever or getting somehting on the eyelids while working in the yard.

Use the Google IMAGES and tye in chemosis of conjunctiva and see what it looks like

I wear glasses, not contacts or anything if that makes a difference. Thanx again.
