Twice Retina Detachment Surgery

my mother's age is 42, she had phacoemulsification last 5 years ago one right eye. on 15th January 2016 suddenly got whitness in eye during cooking, after checkup from ophthalmologist he told the retina detached, we had a retina surgery using silicon oil but unfortunately the some amount of oil came out in inferior, that was removed after a month during the month she can see only 1 meter distance, when doctor dripped out silicon the cornea was swelled and once again another surgery was done after 7 days, now she can not see anything except a light is blinking in right corner of eye and sometime a blue sky color in eye, there is no different in eyes are open or closed. Is this possible that she can see again we are very upset because another eye is already dead since last 10 years. Or is there any possibility that we can change retina. hope will get a proper response

I don't have any advice, but I wanted to say that I am sorry for all that your mother has experienced with her eye. I will hope that things may get better.

there are still many conditions that are beyond treatment and cure and blindness is still one of the many severe disseases that mankind continues to suffer with.  You can only get several different opinions from other eye MDs that examine him to see if any options are open.  No one wants to be blind.

No the retina is brain tissue and does not regenerate like peripheral nerves.

The prognosis is not good and a return of good vision is unlikely. You can use the search feature and archives and read the many posts about retinal detachment surgery and silicone oil.  You might want to consider getting a second or third opinion from other retina surgeons but I cannot offer any good suggestions nor offer you a good prognosis.
