If problem is not resolved with the humidity, then do see an opthalmologist. I have been having similar symptoms, but including incipient adhesions, and it was diagnosed as a weak layer in one of the three coverings of the cornea. Treatment with onntment at night and lubricating drops during day. Failing that, laser surgery has been used successfully.
Thanks for responding. I found out that the heat in my house was drying my eyes out causing them to be irritated, even though the thermostat was set to 68 degrees. My daughter told me to boil water to humidify my house (she suffers from dry eye) and 30 mins later the irritation went away. Since then I've purchase a humidifier for my house and have not had any problems since.
Thanks again Dr. O
You need to see an ophthalmologist for an examination.
