Treatment Question

When my granddaughter gets excited one of her eyes turn in.  At first we thought she was doing it on purpose, but now I'm not so sure and I am worried that something may be wrong.  Is there any way to test her eyes to make sure that this is not a problem that needs some type of therapy or treatment?  We hope she does not need surgery and wondered if there might be other methods to help correct the situation.

I would recommend that you take your granddaughter to an eyeMD specializing in pediatric ophthalmology.  This type of specialist will be able to give you all of the options for her treatment. Depending upon the cause of the crossed eye, treatments sometimes include patching of the other eye, glasses and/or eyedrops.  Surgery may be recommended as well in some patients.
