Afterimage in one eye doesn't go away

I have had an afterimage in my right eye for a month. I think it was caused by looking at a laser pointer type thing, but I don't think it was a real laser pointer. I think it was actually LED. I don't know why it's just the one eye or why it doesn't go away. Sometimes it seems like it is improving, but if I go out in the bright sunshine it gets worse again. I see it with my eye open and closed, but it fades after my eye is closed for a little while.

No discomfort, redness, or other symtpoms.

hey.... ik its been years since you posted this,,, but i have the same thing like you had. its like a sunspot that wont go away...its like an after image  if you look at a bright object or light too long and it just stays one place. it doesnt float. Can you tell me if you ever found out what it was?

A laser pointer after image will not hang around like that. There are other things that can cause it some of which are serious. See an Eye MD find one at www.aao.org
