Nevus of Ota

Sir,
My 19 years old niece has Nevus of Ota in her left eye since birth. She had blue color on her face also but has been successfully treated now. But the blue pigments in her eye remains untreated. Recently I googled and found " "Dr. Brian" Boxer Wachler, MD" 's website, who's based in Beverly Hills, New York, claiming to treat this condition. Is it advisable to undergo the treatment?
Please give suggestion. Thanks

Rashid

This is my personal opinion. I would avoid that office and that procedure, and that doctor.  Be very wary of any doctor that claims to be the only person in the world that can treat a condition or that states that the medical world is too slow to understand what a genius that doctor (thinks) he is.

Use your internet skills and look up complications of ibrite surgery.  If this procedure met the metrics of safety, efficacy predictability and low complication rate you can bet that it would be widely practiced. When they do that at Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami and Emory U in Atlanta then it would be worth considering.

You are never shown "bad results" on internet websites only the most dramatically "successful"
