blurred vision

11 days ago I was hit in the left side of face ( cheek, nose, eye area) while swimming laps.  A man swimming freestyle (crooked) toward me hit me with his arm/hand or "punched" me accidentally.

I saw an ophthalmologist but they did not explain much, so i do not know how to care for this injury.

1) Could you please tell me what my diagnosis means? "Traumatic Iritis/ Lattice OS/ PVD OS/ Contusion OS".

Dr. prescribed Pred Forte drops 4 times a day, but did not say for how long.

2) Could you please tell me how long is advisable? its 5mL 1% solution

3) Should I rest or is it okay to exercise? i went for walk and it seemed to make worse, but not sure.

4) how long to expect to heal ?

5) How do I care for this so I have the best chance of healing? (Sleeping, exercise, diet/nutrition, meds, etc.)

I was told to follow up in 7 to 10 days but do not feel comfortable with that Dr.

6) Would an optometrist be ok?

7) Is there a way of finding a reputable ophthalmologist online?

Thank you very much for your time and concern.

Sarah

I can't tell you any of those things as it needs to come from the MD that checked you. You can find a board certfied ophthalmologist that is a Fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology at www.aao.org

Call the ophthalmologist that saw you and ask his staff your list of questions.
