different shaded iris

we noticed on our nephew that one of his blue eyes seems a tad bit lighter.  actually, my wife noticed it, i really could not tell any difference.  he has had his well baby checkups w/his ped. and no other problems seem to be happening w/his vision.  he is a little over 1 year old.   is this common or mean anything with a lighter shaded iris?  what about if someone has a totally different colored iris?  any info. would be much appreciated.

so a lot of people have either a different shade (a lighter color iris) or a totally different colored iris and they are most of the time, normal and fine?

Probably normal. A totally different color iris may be a problem as one gets older.
