http://jetrea.com/ This is a BIG deal in ophthalmology. This medication (I have no commercial financial interest in it) is injected into the eye and often releases traction of the vitreous on the retina. While the FDA approved in for very limited indications (as is their want 'slow and years behind the rest of the world") it appears to help a variety of conditions such as macular holes, macular membranes. This is called "off label use" and while it benefits it the FDA discourages it and the trial lawyers love it. If 10 people have a condition that will lead to poor vision and no treatment is known and a new medicine comes out that saves the vision of 9 people but causes a side effect in the 10th person who would lose their vision anyway to the disease then the trial lawyers are on TV trolling for the 1 in 10 to sue the drug company while 9 people have had their vision saved. Someting is radically wrong with the USA legal system regarding tort law and class lawsuits. Only in the USA is this a problem.
