The last time I saw my ophthalmologist I asked him if he can laser my floaters. He said laser cannot be used to zap floaters. The only way to get rid of floaters is by vitrectomy but the procedure is invasive (he showed with hand gesture how he will scoop it up, probably trying to scare me) and not worth the risks, that include retinal detachment.

1. It varies. The more you think about it the more you will see them.
2. yes
3. yes
4. not likely a problem
5. I have no idea but using laser for floaters has not been effective and carries risk and expense and isn't cost effective.
