An ophthalmologist or Eye MD physician is equiped to diagnose and treat many retinal problems. It is "overkill" to start out with a retina specialist (who are less skilled and experienced than general ophthalmoloigsts in glaucoma, cornea, oculoplastics, etc). See a good general ophthalmologist. In the USA find one at www.aao.org

I also would like to add that I have alot of pains in my eye. I want to see an ophthalmologist, but what if it's more of a Retina problem? That's why I came to here to discuss about my Symptons , so I could know where I can exactly go to.
It is very unlikely that you've hurt your eyes washing them with water. You need to see a MD ophthalmologist to evaluate your complaint and also to take care of the retina problem.

I cannot say that it would definitely hurt you - I think it depends our your eye's natural defenses. Some people swim daily with eyes open - others can't tolerate it. You have some troublesome symptoms so have a complete eye exam with ophthalmologist. The symptoms may have nothing to do with the water or possibly related. Hard to say.
