vitrectomy healing time

I had a vitrectomy surgery for a detached retina in early March of 2009.  I was wondering what other's experiences were for the healing process and how long it took for their vision to be restored to the best that it would be?  My physician told me that at 3 months, it is usually about 80% of where it will be (vision) and that it could continue to improve some in the future.  At this time, I am very disappointed in my vision in that eye.  Also, some days the vision is definitely better than other days.  Anyone else experienceing this? I would be very interested to know how long it has taken others to get their vision back?

If you want a sugestion, do not expect too much. This way you always can have a good surprise, if lucky. If not, disappointment will be minor And forget about counting the days: every case is different.Bout me, I`m just celebrating the fact the retin keeping attached almost 6 months after. Luck!
