wrinkled capsule

Saw the surgeon a month after cataract surgery, and he says I have a wrinkled capsule. I had complained about blurry vision.  He said it's possible that I had it prior to the surgery, but all the reading I've done indicate that it's similar to a PCO (secondary cataract), and occurs after cataract surgery.   He wants to wait for an exam by a retina specialist before going ahead with the YAG.  By the way, this is a monofocal IOL, and I had been quite myopic prior (was -7, and was hoping for -1.5 after).  Can you explain what the wrinkled capsule is and when it occurs?  thank you.

He said wrinkled capsule.  That's probably why he wanted to do the YAG.  Reason for the retina specialist is due to my nearsightedness - more prone to a retinal tear.  Is it unusual to get the wrinkle so soon after the surgery - one month?

Are you sure he said wrinkled capsule?  He would not send you to a retinal specialist for this.  He mostly like said a a wrinkle in the retina--macular pucker.  A wrinkled capsule is a PCO.
