I'm back and am losing hope....why can't I get pregnant?

So, I haven't been on in awhile.  I am 32, I have three kids from a previous marriage, and DH and I have been trying for 16 months to get pregnant.  I have had an HSG (Feb 2008 and was all clear, all bloodtests and a lap (In sept of 2008), and all was clear too.  I have done clomid with timed intercourse, clomid with IUI's (March, April and May of 2008) and one round of injectables (Aug. 2008) w/ IUI that failed.  After the failed injectable cycle, we decided to do the lap together with our RE.  Oh, and I should mention DH is clear also.  Blood work and S/A.  Now we are on a break, and have been sine the lap in september.  So we tried in Sept and Oct and AF came yesterday.

What is wrong with us?  Why can't this happen for us?  Does anyone have any suggestions for us?  Is it just not our time?  I am so discouraged.  People all around us are getting pregnant, and I am happy for them because I know our time will come, but what if it doesn't.  DH loves "our" kids.....but we are so young and I can't wait to have one of our own.  We such a great relationship and want it so bad.....If anyone has anything to add or a suggestion, please feel free to let me know......

Anya- I meant to ask you this before?  Are you pregnant right now?  You said it worked, so just wondering!!!  How did I miss that?  Wow, 5'2 and 97lbs??  I am 5'2 also and weigh 115.  I couldn't imagine being 97 lbs!  Go eat a cheeseburger girl!  Make it a Big Mac!  I will keep in touch.  I will write your inbox and see if it lets me post it this time......

Well, IVF is more expensive then IUI, right? Plus, if they haven't found anything wrong with you, IT WILL WORK!!!
I know a friend of mine who only got preggo on her 4th IUI cycle!!! with injectables...

it is pretty expensive (should you change your insurance maybe?),
but it totally worth it!
Yoga helps to distress..I got married and I was so stressed out, lost lots of weight...did IUI, failed...then I went into yoga, swimming, accupanture (pretty expensive too :(  ) , and next IUI cycle, BUM, it worked!!! Cuz I wasn't as stressed out..
now though, I seem to not be able to gain weight back...Im working on it...can you believe it, tried for 5 years to lose it, now trying to gain it back, I look like a ghoast! being 5 2 weighting 97!!!

I know what you mean about it just not working and with nothing wrong with either of you makes it even worse. I am in the same boat. I've had all the tests and everything is fine. 7 IUI's later and no success. Hopefully we will get our precious little baby soon!

Hey girls!

A couple weeks ago I heard from both of you, and I tried to respond and medhelp wouldn't post my response?  I tried FOREVER!  I just wanted you to know that!

Anya-  I know, I should have given injectables another try, but it costs us about $2k, and IVF would cost us about $8k.  But, IVF is soooooo hard.  The injections, egg retrieval, all that.  It's just so frustrating.  I think I will look into acup.  I don't know of anyone around here that does it, but I think in a town about 20 minutes away they do it.  I have been trying to de-stress....and let go of the little things....Thanks for your encouragement!

Hi there, old friend...I am sorry to hear about your discouragment, all I can suggest for you is accupanture....it totally worked for me and my friend.. I would also do another injectable cycle with IUI, only because your IUIs failed but you are good and no problems, it iwll happen, just have faith and seek alternatives, such as accupanture and yoga...yoga SOOO helps!!

Thank you....it ***** so bad!  I have talked to DH about IVF.  We have no fertility insurance, but the meds are covered, so that is almost 1/2 of the $15k for the IVF.  So that is pretty good.  That is why we only did the injectables once...the % of getting pregnant wasn't much better than getting it done on our own and it is so expensive!  So we will give it until April I think and then go for that.  

Again, thanks for your thoughts and prayers...it is SO frustrating....

I am sorry you are having such a hard time. I can relate with how you feel. Me and DH have been trying for almost 2 years and nothing has happened yet. We just did our last IUI w/ injectables and now we are moving on to IVF at the beginning of the year. Have yall considered IVF. I know it is very expensive but the % of it working is alot higher that IUI. I just wanted to wish you the best and I hope you feel better about it all very soon. I will keep you in my prayers :)
