Desperately wanting to conceive

Could a punctured uterus be the cause of my infertility?

If it was punctured two years ago, it's no longer punctured now.  However, you could have internal scarring or adhesions of the uterus from the puncture.  Have you had an MRI done of the uterus, or an HSG, to try to identify whether there is scar tissue?  Google Asherman's Syndrome for information about this.

Thank you so much for responding. Nearly 2 years ago, I had a missed abortion which caused me to undergo a D & C. During the procedure, I was told my uterus had been punctured and was quickly taken to the emergency room to have it repaired. Approximately 4 months later I became pregnant again but unfortunately miscarried during my 6th week. Since then, I have been unable to conceive at all. I was wondering could the trama to my uterus be the cause of my problems. I've talked to my GYN about it and she believes it may be possible and that I should see a specialist. I thought, similar to your response, that the uterus would heal if even after enduring such trama but now after a year of trying to conceive, I'm not sure what could possibly be the cause.

Generally, a uterus that has a cut in it will heal, in about six weeks to six months.  (What do you mean by "punctured?")  Even a woman with a C-section can safely get pregnant after the proper healing time.

Infertility is generally the term for not being able to ovulate, or not being able to get pregnant once ovulation happens.  Nothing about the uterus will change the ovaries and their actions.  On the other hand, a uterus that can't carry a pregnancy will cause miscarriages.  Are you talking about having repeated miscarriages?  I'm just a little at a loss about how to answer you because it's hard to understand what a punctured uterus is.
