Hi Anya! BabyBlue is correct, clomid does not kill sperm, but it can create hostile cervical mucus...and the sperm needs fertile cervical mucus to survive. I just did one cycle of clomid last month, and decided not to take it again for that exact reason. I guess it affects cervical mucus in about 1/3 of users. However, if you do IUIs, it doesn't really matter, since the sperm will then be injected straight into your uterus, and thereby bypassing the cervix (and cervical mucus).
Pre-seed is a sperm-friendly lubricant, created to mimic fertile cervical mucus, so that could be an option when you BD, but is not necessary if you do IUI. They do sell it at a few specialty pharmacies, but most women end up getting it online. I got mine from early-pregnancy-tests . com.
Good luck this cycle!
Thank you girls for your input. Should I buy that Pre-seed tomorrow after IUI? I understand that i will be using Prometrium after IUI on Thursday, should I also use pre-seed? What if it will not be good for Prometrium? I m not sure here..... As far as I understand, Pre-seed just help to moisture down there, no? btw, can I buy it at CVS pharmacy?
Pre-seed is very good to helps sperm swimming. I never use pre-seed before but i heard it's really good. Try it. IF you have IUI tomorrow, (wednesday) wait until friday to BD. Usually after IUI dr will ask to you stay in bed for the rest of the night. light activity next day and 2 or 3 days you should be back to normal.
No, I didn't BD after that becuase I am sore all over down there. I wish I BD on Sunday night for insurrance, but can't take the cramp and the sore so i decided just wait for the result of IUI. If not work this cycle, we will BD a day after.
Good luck to you.
Have you tried using preseed?? That might not be a bad idea after your IUI to bd with some preseed for insurance! We are also going to have to do IUI, but I bought some preseed before we knew that, and i've heard great things about it too! GOOD LUCK!!!
BD = baby dancing (sex)
DPO = day post ovulation
DPIUI = day post IUI
IUI doesn't hurt. it's like a pinch. Just like when you do pap smear test. Maybe you might feel cramp day after. I have last Friday and I still feel cramp due to my doctor couldn't find the cervix so she poked and poked. I am sore down there but i kept thinking it's work it so I am ok with that.
You just take a deep breath while your doctor do IUI. It's quick and painless.
Good luck to you.
Thank you so much for answering! You are giving me hope!!! :)
Few questions, what is BD? and 4DPIUI ( 4 days post IUI?)
My CM is good but sperm is not moving....I m not sure if that's Clomid but I was told that it is.......
How painful was IUI?
THANKS!
