Silly question

Hey ladies, I am now in the tww! I don't want  this to sound bad but I was wondering, does anyone else still get their hair done or nails done while in the tww or pregnant through IVF? It does not matter to me if I don't do these things, I just don't want to compromise this AT ALL.

There are some that say it's okay, some say try to avoid it. If you say you don't want to compromise, then just delay it or use natural dyes.

Hi there. I'm haven't had ivf but I was just talking to my dh about this today. I'm a hairstylist and I was  9 mos pg doing colors on clients. I guess the fumes aren't that good to inhale but when you are getting your hair done you are at less risk for ingesting any fumes that may harm the baby. Actually the reason they say don't color your hair is the hair color does not last as long due to the hormones as well as the vitamin build up in your hair from the prenatals. As for pedicures I have heard further along in your pg that the spa pedicures could induce labor. Well I had them done all my pgs and plan on it with this one. The one thing I wouldn't do is acrylic nails the chemicals could seep through the nail bed and into the blood and go to your baby. I would do press ons if you have fake nails and reg manicures for real nails. I plan on keeping up with the maincures as well. I hope this helped you. Good luck and best wishes to all of you

That's exactly what I was thinking!  It will make me have something to do during this time. It's only my 2nd day after transfer and I'm already starting to go a little crazy in my mind.

It is perfectly fine to get those things done. Pamper yourself. It can actualy help your chances if it relaxes you.
