The Women's Health magazine (January?February 2011) has a good article about it. Go buy it! It's about $15,000.00 plus the IVF after you find the one. Insurance does not cover it unless you have cancer or something like that. (ages: from 30 to 38 the most)
It is a somewhat rarefied specialty. Some places are doing it, the odds are worse than freezing embryos, but there are a lot of women interested in extending their fertility who don't have a partner at this point but expect to later, and that is the market they are addressing.
Can I ask why you are choosing to just freeze the eggs? Are you single at this point? Good Luck with your decision
No, I'm not single. My RE recommended we freeze any eggs leftover from our IVF cycle b/c we are only choosing to fertilize 4-6 eggs (ethical reasons) so if it doesn't work, it saves us some money and I won't have to go through stimulating again.
