Getting nervous for my laprascopy.

Well, it is getting closer and closer. My laprascopy surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday. I am getting really nervous. I have my Post Op exam tomorrow morning. I am just worried that I won't be able to go to my college graduation which is 3 days after my surgery. Do you think I'll be alright to go? I'll be basically sitting in a chair for 2 hours except to walk down and than again to get my diploma? I'm just afraid I'll faint or puke right in the middle of it.
Anyone have any experiences?

Well I just got back home after class and my lovely Pre-Op appointment. He said that I should be just fine for graduation..just a little sore but I should be up and about a day or two after surgery. I have to go fill all my prescriptions and start taking my antibiotics on Sunday. I'm starting to get even more nervous now. Hopefully they find something either way that lets me know that I can have a baby!! After surgery it'll be taking a couple more months off to save some money and get into my new job before ttc again.

I am having the surgery because my DH had a vasectomy 11 years ago and we are trying to have a baby doing IUI with a donor. Well after 6 failed IUI's my doctor thinks we should have a lap done to see if I have endo. I already have done an HSG and my tubes are clear. This is the last hope as to why the IUI isn't working. I've already had all the other tests done.
Thanks for all the hopefully news on how it's not too bad! I have never had surgery before so this is a little bit scary for me.

I was definitely walking in 3 days after my lap although everyone is different.  Good luck with your surgery!!

My friend had lap done for endo and she was up by day 3. i would say just let someone know your medical restrictions (like you shouldn't stand if there are standing parts), etc. Maybe they can put you up front?

Good luck. The scariest part is the unknown. All will go well.

I had my first lap three months ago or so.. and by the third day i was out and about with friends eating and all, though defintely wasn't ready to go back to work and walk around by any means.. the pain really isn't bad at all.. I had some discomfort around the area they did the most work, mostly with walking.. otherwise i didnt' take that many pain meds at all. though the air you will feel in your shoulder and under your diaphram just feels like a toothache is the best i can explain it.. so yes walk around and I think you could go to the graduation, though you might not feel super wonderful! good luck with everything, i hope that they can give you some answers or help you get your BFP quicker! : )

I've had 4 laps... the first two days aren't that great, but YOU HAVE TO FORCE YOURSELF TO GET UP AND MOVE!!! I can't stress that enough :) Some people bounce back right after surgery (seriously??? NOT ME lol!)  I hope you'll be okay to go to your college graduation :)

Let me know If you need ANYTHING!!! Feel free to send a message anytime :) Good luck :)
Is this your first lap? Whats if for if you don't mind my asking... :)
