thanx guys...but kno sumthin...my HSG got cancelled cos i was havin cervical erosion..d radiologist said she cudn't do it...my doc says erosion is due to estrogen excess due to ovulation induction....sum pple do hav cervical erosion ...watevr be d reason dis month didn't start on a gud note 4me..n yeah i'm so depressed...
Hi yeh the same for me the big inflatable balloon was what hurt the most.I cramped quite a bit and it was very incomfortable i had to get the doctor to stop as it was too much. But you need to do it so you can see your tubes are ok.I had a tube removed and i could see on the monitor all the dye just running through it was weird.some women can concieve better after as it clears the tubes if you have any blockages so making you more fertile for the couple of months afterwards, but it did nothing to help me.SSBD xx
cute - It was VERY uncomfortable for me. The cathedar balloon inflating is what hurt me the most. The rest wasn't too bad. To me it felt like a big balloon inflating in a little uterus! I did take pain med before. I also recommend bringing your own pad. I spotted for 2-3 days after the test. I WAS one of the lucky ones to get a bfp the same month as the hsg test. But also note that I spent the ENTIRE month praying non-stop...still praying!!
I had it done and thought it was pretty easy. Takes only a few min and I hear many ladies get pregnant after having it done...I was not one of those lucky ladies but maybe you will be! Good luck and let us know how it goes! O and I wore my own pad because the one they give you will not be the greatest. You will probable have some slight spotting and drainage from the dye they use.
thanx guys...gotta go for it 2moro....as it is i hav a very low pain threshold...
it is not really painful but you should take a pain reliever before you go just in case...also, it would be more painful in case any tubal blockage is there..since the dye would not have a clear path to pass through..
good luck to You!!
I agree with Lorane,
HSG is uncomfortable but not extremely painful.
It is uncomfortable, but no real pain. You can take a pain killer prescribed by your doctor prior to your procedure. I had it done and this was the reason for my infertility so I was VERY glad I did it:) Good luck to you.
