Is anyone starting IVF in October 2008?

I was looking for others to communicate with during my first IVF cycle.  I will begin Lupron on Wednesday October 22.  I went through 4 failed IUI's this summer.  I am 34 years old.  I have a daughter who will turn 3 next month.  She was finally conceived after almost 4 years of ttc and a laparoscopy for me and varicocele repair for my husband.  I have all my medications sitting here waiting for the next month.  Our embryo transfer should occur the week before Thanksgiving so we should know if we're pregnant by Dec. 10.  I am excited and hopeful, but realistic.  I know this procedure only carries a 50% success rate for any given cycle.  Any others out there starting IVF soon?  Add me as a friend and we'll keep in touch!

Hi everyone! First I'd like to wish everyone Happy Thanksgiving :0)

Well, 9 mature follicals were retrieved on Monday and they all got fertilized.  That night i was in alot of pain and didn't get any sleep.  I almost went to emergency but somehow by 5:00 am fell asleep through the next day.
Today on Thanksgiving they will transfer 3 embryos and give me an update on the rest.  If all goes well, another 3 blastocyst transfer will be done saturday.
so far I've had two shos of progesterone.  At first it felt fine, but now two days later, it feels hard, swollen and sore.  I don't know how i will give another shot on that side.  I will ask the doctor today.

wanna-be-preggers and imcrt    wishing you lots of luck and a healthy pregnancy.

Hi, it's me again. The reason being ICSI is not performed as I have 3 naturally fertilized eggs. They said I can consider till tomorrow morning whether to put in 2 or put in 3. most probably it will be 2 as discussed with my DH.
Just curious, wanna be preggers, did you requested for ICSI or they use their initialive?

Got a call from clinic, they said among the 15 follicles, 1 is not identify, left with 14 follicles. But so far, only 3 got fertilized. Still waiting for the others to catch up, very worried now. I will try calling the clinic again to ask does it help now if they can perform the ICSI now. (Because last time when they check on the sperms quality, they said ICSI is not necessary). Actually, I would rather they store the remaining embies than go through the injections again.....(if this is not successful.) Have to think positive now!!!
You are right, I am feeling very sore in my stomach area. Just like doing 50 sitting after a long time. They scheduled my ET on Sat, 29nov 0900am.

Lmcrt~I am sure you will be fine.  I am more worried about you hurting your back (with that christmas tree) than your embryos.  If they already implanted, they have snuggled in.  Just try to have good posture, especially when you are lifting.  It is so important to use your legs when you bend, especially if you are pregnant because even early on your hormones are changing and the pelvic ligaments are more prone to injury.  So be careful!  Thinking of you.

Koreangirl~it sounds like you are perfectly following behind me!  That's how many eggs I ended up having (16 but 1 was immature so I had 15)  Let us know tomorrow how many fertilized.  I am soooo excited for you.  I know I was sore for 2 to 3 days after my ER.  I did have to use tylenol as needed.  Expect this.  If you don't get sore, that's wonderful.  I just wanted to warn you that you might.  My soreness is gone now a week after my ER now I'm just bloating more and my ovaries are really big but I'm drinking 3 liters of water a day to keep from getting worse.  Strangely the more water you drink the more it helps with ovarian hyperstimulation.  Usually 2 to 3 liters a day is recommended.  Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Hope everyone else is doing great.

They retrieved abt 15 follicles according my DH. Tomorrow, will know how many fertilize.
They put me up for albumin after the procedure, I think that is because my blood pressure is very low. Still feeling giddy after I slept for half a day. Will talk to you all soon. Take care all.
