Newly pregnant w/ hx of ectopic pregnancy

Hi! I'm 30 years olds with a history of an ectopic pregnancy 4 years ago. I recently found out that I am pregnant again. This is a natural conception. I tested at 10 dpo with a hpt and got a faint positive. On 12 dpo I tested again with another hpt and got another positive, but the line was much clearer. That same day (12 dpo) I called my OB/GYN office to see if I could come in for a pregnancy test and to get blood work. I went in and again tested positive on the doctor's hpt. My doctor then ordered for me to go have blood work done and to repeat in 48 hours. I just received my results from my first set of labs today. My Hgb/Hct, Plt, and other labs from CBC etc are great!  My bHCG - 63, Progesterone - 16. I am still waiting to see what my results are for the second set. I am just wondering if these levels sound promising. I know that without the second bHCG I can't tell much, but from what I have been reading it seems that my Progresterone may be a little low. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Although I was upset when I had the ectopic my b/f at the time was no good so it's probably for the best.  No pregnancies since unfortunately but trying hard.  Problem is with my dh but still we are hoping!

I'm sure everything will be fine for you - no point worrying over something that might never happen so just relax and enjoy your pregnancy.  Keep an eye out for spotting or sharp pains but then again these are also symptoms of pregnancy so don't let them worry you too much.  Best of luck with everything.  Let me know how u/s goes.

Hey wannababe! Thanks for reading my post and replying. I sort of figured that I would have an u/s sooner but my doctor said in 3 weeks, so that way the baby will be more visible and hopefully see a heartbeat. My ectopic was in my right tube and they did save it. I have never heard of the milking out a pregnancy either, but that doesn't mean that it isn't possible I guess. Sorry to hear about your loss from your ectopic. Have you had any pregnancies since then? I am hoping everything will be ok this time, but so nervous about experiencing that again!

Congratulations Beth!  I don't know if this will answer your question but if you are afraid you might have another ectopic preg you should get your dr to do an ultra sound.  I had an ect preg 8 years ago and have been advised that I must have a us immediately if I get pregnant again.  If your HCG levels are ok then you're probably fine.  Mine were quite low and even gave me a false neg on a HPT first time round.  Although your chances of having another ect preg are slightly increased the chances are still quite low.

Out of curiousity do you have both your tubes still or did you have to have one removed?  I had my preg "milked" out because I was so young (so the surg told me) but I haven't met anyone else that had this done and although I'm happy to have both my tubes I'm concerned that my scarring will lead to another ect preg if I'm lucky enough to conceive again.
