BBT and thyroid

Man... another thing to worry now.  My co-worker mentioned something about her thyroid and pregnancy at 37.  She said she saw a chairopractor and found out that her thyroid is not normal by looking at her charts.  She said hers where below 97.8 during cd2 till CD4.  I am not really sure what she was saying but would like to know if any of you ladies had the same problem.  She said After the herbal medication given to her.  thyroid got fixed and got PG in a month.  It is an amazing story but not sure I understood everything she said because we have to be discreet being in the office with the boss across the room.  You know what I mean.  Any of you ladies have more info about this?

Thanks

That's OK! I worry too much sometimes too :-) It think it comes with the territory when dealing with fertility issues.

Take care, tea_berries!

my temps were in the 96's before thyroid replacement.  thyroid can definitely affect your ability to get pg, and it is a simple (inexpensive) blood test, so it is worth checking out.

That's what I was wondering too.  I have been looking at all the pregnant charts and they look like they are close to mine if not lower.  I guess I am just worrying too much.  thanks heather

Very low or very high temps can indicate an underactive or overactive thyroid; but temperatures in the 97s are normal for the follicular phase (before O), so I'm not sure why she was told she's having a thyroid problem based on temperatures alone.

If you look at the charts on FF, you'll see that most women's temperatures go below 97.8 in the follicular phase.

Hope that helps :-)
